tmcAL (ylbM) : tRNA cytidine(34) N(4)-acetyltransferase [1]

Several transfer RNAs require modifications to provide maximal fidelity during protein synthesis. TmcAL is an acetyltransferase specific for cytidines at tRNA position 34 generating 4-acetylcytidine ("ac4C" or "M"). This modification is only required for the unique tRNAMCAU elongator tRNA, reducing inappropriate methionine formylation and inappropriate isoleucyl charging.
