brpR : biofilm-regulating protein repressor [1] [2]

The BrpSR system represents a structurally distinct LytTR-type two-component system that likely responds to a competence-stimulating pheromone. Upon pheromone binding, BrpR is released and biofilm production is repressed. BrpR also may be involved in more global regulation including sortase repression, metabolic dormancy, late-stage competence and LrgA-mediated programmed cell death.
