There is some confusion in the S. aureus literature regarding the MepRA transporters. Multiple papers and two crystal structures are available referring to two separate operons as MepRA. For clarity, we will annotate the operon between the ascorbate phosphotransferase operon and the glycerol-3-phosphate transporter (3ECO) as "Mep1" and the one between femX and sarV (4EM1) as Mep2.
