Other Information[edit | edit source]

TrfA binds to the ClpCP protease and increases its degradation of SsrA-tagged proteins (generated by stalled ribosomes) and degradation of class II "addiction module" antitoxins. TrfA itself is proteolyzed by ClpCP making its CplCP specificity redirecting "adaptor" activity highly dependent on the trfA transcription rate.
