⊟Other Information[edit | edit source]
Technically, AdaB (OGT) is not an enzyme because it is consumed in the reaction. It catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from O6-methylguanine or O4-methylthymidine within damaged DNA onto an active site cysteine, repairing the DNA but rendering the AdaB "enzyme" nonfunctional.
