Other Information[edit | edit source]

This locus is highly prone to recombination leading to gene duplication / loss. Gene nomenclature is confusing and appears to be numbered sequentially by position in the genome and is not intended to show homology between strains (e.g. the first instance of tilA/lpl in COL may have the greatest homology with the sixth instance in FPR3757 but the gene names would still be different [i.e. tilA1/lpl1 and tilA6/lpl6 in COL and FPR3757, respectively]).
